Cycle rally organized in Islamabad to promote clean and green environment

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to aware masses about clean and green environment a cycle rally was organized in Islamabad. Advisor to Prime Minister for Climate change Malik Amin Aslam was the chief guest of the event. A large number of students from different schools and residents of the twin cities participated in the cycling rally, which was started from ‘Rose and Jasmine Garden’ and culminated at Parade Ground.

Advisor to the Prime Minister Climate Change appreciated the organizers ‘Sunbeams’ and ‘Impact’ for creating awareness among the people about the importance of a clean and green environment. “Clean and green environment is necessary for health and the incumbent government is taking all out measures in this regard,” he said.

Chairperson Sunbeams Ainee Nasir Jamy , speaking on the occasion, said that there was a need to create awareness about the environment and education in the country. Sunbeams NGO runs a Social Internship Program which mobilizes youth to participate in healthy activities and promote the cause of education in Pakistan. “Credit goes to our interns for creating such an exciting event ‘Green Cycling Rally’,” she said, adding that Sunbeams is a registered NGO that is working to achieve quality education for all. Its School System is educating 3400 children and employing 180 trained teachers in its 22 schools located in Islamabad, Lahore, Khushab, Okara, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot and Sheikhupura.
