Pakistan represented by Youth at SCO & BRICS Student Spring Festival, Stavropol Russia

A 15 member delegation of Pakistani youth participated in SCO & BRICS Students Spring Festival which was organized by Russian Union of Youth in collaboration with Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States & Government of the Stavropol Territory.

Pakistan based youth led organizations; Future Team Pakistan & Global Youth Clan represented Pakistan at the forum. The delegation included Co-Founder & Patron-in-Chief Global Youth Clan Tariq Khattak, Vice President GYC Farhan Ahmed & Sr. Vice President GYC Sharez Shad. Aqib Javed, Awais Kazmi, Samar Khan, Auesha Z. Hammad, Najiullah Khattak and others participated on behalf of Future Team Pakistan.

Pakistani Delegate presented their ideas in different segments like New Generation Youth Forum, Young Journalists Forum, Entrepreneurial Forum, Educational Forum and Arts Hall. Delegates of Pakistan also presented their cultural tradition “Sindhi Ajrak” to the Organizers of the Festival.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants, organizers and guests of the 3rd  SCO & BRICS Students Spring International Festival in Stavropol, which marks the beginning of Russia’s Presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization :

“Your major forum fully reflects the aspirations of young people from various countries to develop professional and personal contacts, and their readiness to work together in a businesslike manner. The festival programme features a whole range of substantial, interesting events that, I am sure, you will enjoy and that will be useful to you. You will also be able to experience the genuine friendliness and hospitality of Stavropol Territory residents.I am confident that your festival will contribute to the development of international people-to-people interaction, as well as to the strengthening of friendship and harmony between people. It will help further improve the constructive partnerships within BRICS and the SCO.”

The names of the best creative youth in the world at the Art Hall platform, which combined several directions: music, dance, original genre, and amateur art were also named. Awais Kamzi from Pakistan managed to get best performer award, while Pakistani Samar Khan came in top 10 and won dedal in the marathon amongst 2500 participants. The Grand Prix of the festival was won by the dance group  ” Dance cod “  from the Krasnodar Territory, the team of universities of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Gleb Kim  from the Kyrgyz Republic, “Black X” from the Saratov region of the Russian Federation, “Theater of Russian costume fashion” from the South Ural State Humanitarian-Pedagogical University of the Chelyabinsk region of the Russian Federation.

In total, 2500 people from 23 countries took part in the Festival: Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, India, Iran, Pakistan, Mongolia, Belarus, Turkey, Sri Lanka, as well as Austria, Vietnam and Georgia (special guests of the festival).

A meeting of the heads of the departments of youth affairs of the BRICS and SCO countries took place on the festival. The festival participants supported the initiative of the Tajik side to hold the Year of Youth for the BRICS and SCO countries. Also, participants of the IV Forum of Young Leaders of the BRICS and SCO countries, which took place at the festival, supported initiatives to launch this year the Kazan Youth Business Incubator of the SCO countries in Kazan, holding the International Festival “Student Spring of the CIS Countries” on an annual basis.  

At the end of the ceremony, the national anthem of the BRICS and the SCO was performed by the thousandth children’s choir, and a huge balloon was launched into the sky depicting the flags of the countries participating in the event. The headliner of the festival was American hip-hop artist Akon.

The organizers of the Festival are: the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, compatriots living abroad and for international humanitarian cooperation, the Government of the Stavropol Territory, the Russian Union of Youth All-Russian Public Organization
