Will be catastrophic if ‘dangerous’ games not stopped: Nawaz

Deposed premier Nawaz Sharif on Thursday warned that if the ‘dangerous’ games being played don’t stop, it would lead to horrifying results, Express News reported.

Speaking to media personnel in London, the former prime minister said that the disqualification of former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former minister for privatisation Daniyal Aziz was disheartening. Only the PML-N is targeted in this dangerous game, adding that no other party or leader is being victimised.

Pakistan was torn apart in 1970 because of this very game, he stressed. Commenting on the arrest of PML-N candidate Qamarul Islam, who was running in opposition to Chaudhry Nisar, Nawaz said that the arrest is tantamount to pre-poll rigging. “A new history of engineering election is being created,” he added.

The PML-N supremo said that this must stop, and if it doesn’t the results could be catastrophic. He further instructed party leaders to support Islam’s children and ensure the slogan of “vote ko izzat dou” is respected and spread.
