Are we headed in the right direction?

Letter to EditorAre we headed in the right direction?

Where are we headed to? We are composing new National music and our counterpart neighbor is going to inaugurate a new electric car on their 75th birthday as ours. Our Muslim leaders during our independence didn’t dream that this nation will be making songs. They wanted us to move forward scientifically, not musically.

If we think deeply, this is the cause why others are getting ahead of us, on the other hand, we have still not gotten over our childish habits. We have great inflation here, droughts, our saviors died while rescuing us, floods, suicide cases and numerous of social, economical and political issues. In spite of having a big population, India spends millions on their sports and gaming, they have professional coaches to train those trainees. Pakistan spends so little on our sports except for cricket. This Year, our athletes won medals in the Commonwealth games, most of the renowned didn’t have any coaches at all, they still performed amazingly. Shouldn’t we spend the same money which we are spending on Milli Naghme to these hard working athletes? Why don’t we encourage them economically rather than encouraging them through songs, which are sung by some actors?

The Korean Liberation War did happen the same day as our independence day. Their single conglomerate company’s net worth is estimated to be equal to our GDP. We are different because we Pakistan have not gotten rid of social factors which affect our success and we waste our precious money on useless things. We can show our patriotism and love towards our country in a different way too. We should help make Pakistan eradicate pollution, which is harming our lives. We can change ourselves which are making social issues in our country. We should help Pakistan grow, we must not destroy our time on new rhyming national melodies, we should do better for our country by saving that time in another good and welfare work.
