PM Shehbaz Calls for Commonwealth Revitalization with Youth Empowerment Focus

NEWS DESK

LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, currently in London, has urged for the revitalization of the Commonwealth with a particular emphasis on youth empowerment. In a tweet on Saturday, he revealed that he advocated for this during his address at the Commonwealth Leaders’ meeting. PM Sharif also shared details of his Youth Programme, which encompasses Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment. He highlighted that women and members of minority communities are given special focus under the loan scheme.

Moreover, PM Sharif expressed his disappointment at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) attempts to create controversy surrounding Pakistan’s participation in the SCO’s meeting in India. In a tweet on the same day, he noted that this should not come as a surprise, as PTI Chairman Imran Khan has previously endangered the country’s crucial foreign policy interests. PM Sharif accused PTI of treating everything, including interstate relations, as a plaything.
