Beijing Publishing Group Announces “Beijing in My Heart” Competition for Teenagers Worldwide

BEIJING: Beijing Publishing Group is thrilled to invite talented teenagers from around the globe to participate in the “Beijing in My Heart” competition. This unique event aims to celebrate the rich historical and cultural heritage of Beijing while embracing its modern transformation. Through their creative writings and paintings, young participants will have the opportunity to depict their personal perspectives on Beijing’s fusion of history and modernity.

Open to aspiring contributors between the ages of 6 and 18, this competition presents an exceptional platform for young talents to share their deep affection for Beijing. By submitting original works in the form of articles or paintings, participants can express their emotions and reflections on the enchanting city.

Key Details of the “Beijing in My Heart” Competition:

  1. Contributor Eligibility: The competition welcomes entries from teenagers worldwide, ranging from 6 to 18 years old.
  2. Time Limit: Submissions are open starting today and will be accepted until July 30, 2023.
  3. Requirements:(1) Basic Requirements: All works must be original and unpublished.(2) Categories:a. Writings: Participants may submit narratives, prose, or poetry. Narrative and prose essays should be limited to fewer than 1000 words, while poems should consist of no more than 20 lines.b. Paintings: There are no thematic or technical restrictions. The minimum paper size for paintings is octavo.(3) Ways to Submit:a. Written works should be sent as attachments in Word document format to beijinginmyheart@outlook.com. The email subject line must read “Solicitation for Works on ‘Beijing in My Heart’.”b. Original paintings should be mailed to Mrs. Ru, 1931, Unit 2, Building 3, Yicuiyuan I, Yanta District, Xi’an 710065, China. For overseas contestants, please send a high-definition electronic version of your artwork to [email protected]. Please include a personal biography with each submission, providing your real name, date of birth, school, and contact information.
  4. Relevant Reminders:(1) Evaluation and Recognition: A panel of experts will carefully evaluate the submitted works. Selected pieces will be included in the official publication, “Beijing in My Heart.” Each author will receive a complimentary copy of the book, “I Love Beijing,” along with a certificate of participation.(2) Ownership and Publication: There is no evaluation fee, but submitted works will not be returned, and no additional remuneration will be provided. The organizer retains the copyright of selected works. Some chosen pieces will be published on prominent online platforms such as OCTOBER the Children’s Literature and Parenting Science, while selected paintings will be displayed during relevant activities.(3) Organizer’s Rights: The organizer reserves the right to interpret and make decisions regarding this solicitation notice.
