Pakistan Adolescents Forum 2023 Promotes Adolescent Well-being and Empowerment

STAFF REPORTER

ISLAMABAD: In a gathering held in Islamabad, the inaugural Pakistan Adolescents Forum 2023 brought together key stakeholders to champion the cause of adolescent well-being and development. Organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) Pakistan in partnership with the Pakistan Girls Guide Association (PGGA), UNICEF Pakistan, and the Institute for Social and Youth Development (ISYD) Pakistan, this event marked a significant milestone in prioritizing the needs of adolescents in Pakistan. The forum served as a powerful platform to amplify the voices of adolescents and support the Global Forum for Adolescents and the 1.8 Billion Young People for Change Campaign.

Held at the PGGA campus in Islamabad, the Pakistan Adolescents Forum 2023 aimed to sensitize stakeholders about the critical importance of adolescent well-being and development, aligning with the mission of the Global Forum for Adolescents 2023 and the 1.8 billion campaign. Additionally, the event sought direct engagement with adolescents to deliver crucial messages concerning their well-being and development.

Recognizing the transformative potential of young people as key agents of change within their communities, the forum featured a comprehensive agenda comprising four interactive, innovative, and impactful Activity-Based Learning Sessions. Each session addressed critical aspects of adolescent health and development, covering topics such as Adolescent Physical Health and Diet, Adolescent Risk Factors, Adolescent Mental Health, and Adolescent Health and hygiene. Following the learning activities, participants reconvened to share feedback, ensuring an interactive and participatory experience.

Looking ahead, a similar event under the banner of Pakistan Adolescent Forum is planned in collaboration with the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association later this month, with the shared goal of empowering adolescents across the country for a promising future of Pakistan.
