Corona and schools in Pakistan

Letter to EditorCorona and schools in Pakistan

With the ongoing pandemic not only the lives of adults are effected but of the kids as well. The Covid19 curve has started to flatten but has not come down fully, with that kept in mind how have the government decided to open schools for children of all ages? In a country where adults are failing to follow the basic PPE rules, how do they expect the children to be wearing full PPEs in this scorching heat?

The government should consider either holding the year or promoting the student in primary schools. Student aged from 4 to 10 would be the least worried about maintaining distance and covering their faces. It could also lead to heat strokes, dehydration and other heat related illnesses. If the schools are somehow functioning, the government should be providing the underprivileged students, who can barely afford to attend school, with face masks and proper personal protective equipments.

The kids are the future of this nation and their health should be our top most priority.
