District Population Symposium held in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, 14th February, 2019: In a bid to spread awareness about population explosion District Population Welfare department Rawalpindi organized a symposium at Rawalpindi art council on Thursday, 14th February.

The symposium was graced by Punjab Minister for Population Welfare Col (r) Hashim Dogar.

While addressing minister said that one of the factors of unemployment, poverty and increasing crime was uncontrolled population and it was imperative for all segments of society to create awareness among the masses particularly in rural areas to control the increase in the population growth. He further said that uncontrolled population growth has negative effect on the progress and prosperity of the nation and to resolve the problem confronting the nation. He stressed Ulema to play their role to aware people about family planing. Minister also congratulated Dr. Shireen Sukhan for organizing one the best symposiums at district level.

Prominent among those who also addressed the symposium included District Population officer Rawalpindi Dr. Shireen Sukhan, DCO Rawalpindi
Saima Younis.

Representatives of Youth Alliance on Family Planning and SRH, Ulema, laywers, Doctors and Nurses also participated in the symposium.

DPWO Rawalpindi Dr. shireen Sukhun briefed about the new initiatives taken by district Rawalpindi. Deputy commissioner Rawalpindi Miss Saima Younis acknowledged the working and coordination of DPWO with other departments at district Rawalpindi and assure her fullest support to spread awareness about the population explosion.
