Islam The Religion of Peace

OpinionIslam The Religion of Peace
By: Syed Shahzaib Haider

Islam is certainly a religion of no violence in the fullest sense of the word, but it’s been very unfortunate that people quite often are unable to understand the true wisdom of Islam. I am sure no one in the entire world have ever heard of any Muslim burning any of the holy Book/script related to any other religion or any Muslim who ridiculed any religion’s philosophy instead we put our point in quite a logical manner.

The whole world knows what happened in Australia where that Australian man allegedly killed and live streamed the massacre of Muslims when they were praying in New Zealand. It clearly shows the state of mind and the bias of the western world towards Islam and Muslims yet most of the western people believe that Islamic radicalization is true just because the so called free western media painted it that way. I should say this was not the first occurrence of bloodshed of innocent Muslims numerous took place in the history and in so many places I will not take the name it is still going on without any shatter. But because Islam don’t teach any Muslim the behavior of extreme dislike intended for any sect, religion or the people who don’t follow Islam as religion. Muslims never retaliated nor responded unduly towards such disturbing events. However it’s been rather ill-fated for us Muslims to hear every time when it’s about our religion that Muslims are extremists which aren’t right.

Quran teaches us the path of peace and gives us the complete guideline for making peace or being in a mutually peaceful environment with all the other non-Muslim communities, Reaching salvation and well being, attaining goodness, keeping away from trouble, submitting yourself to Allah is the only thing we learn from Quran and from the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W).

A true Muslim is the one who truly follows Islam, someone who is at perfect peace, with himself and with others. As our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said, mentioned in the Hadith collections of Tirmidhi and Nasai: “A true believer (momin) is he from whom people’s lives and wealth are safe.”

A Muslim ought to respect others and try to uphold peace and follow the straight path. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) was sent as mercy to all the mankind and here I am failing to understand how a follower of such peace loving religion can be a fundamentalist.

People who are being so judgmental about Islam are humbly requested to rethink before giving their verdict about the whole religion we absolutely respect all other religions as being Muslims and expect the same for whole the humankind because only by doing the righteous deeds we can convert aggression into peace. Almost every teaching of Islam is based on the principles of peace and avoidance. Any disparity from the model is a disparity between Islam and is due to misinterpretation. We should, therefore, understand the ideology of peace given in Islam and our actions should base upon this ideology so that peace can prevail in the world.
