Rain Halts Opening T20 Match Between Pakistan and New Zealand

RAWALPINDI: The first match of the T20 International series between Pakistan and New Zealand was rained out. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first in the first T20 match of the series against Pakistan, but the match could not start due to rain. The match toss was delayed due to rain at Pindi Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi.

After the toss, both teams entered the field and the national anthems of both countries were played, but before the first ball of the match, the rain started again and the match was stopped again. The match resumed after a delay of 2 hours 17 minutes, the match was reduced to 5, 5 overs. Tim Robinson and Tim Seyfard opened the innings on behalf of New Zealand, Tim Robinson was bowled by Shaheen Shaheen Afridi without scoring a run on the second ball of the match, followed by guest captain Mark Champman but Barash then made an entry and the match was called off.

Three players Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed and Irfan Khan Niazi made their debut in this match. Pakistan team captain Babar Azam, Saeem Ayub, Muhammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi. , consisting of Naseem Shah, Mohammad Amir and Abrar Ahmed. The New Zealand team includes captain Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Josh Clarkson, Jacob Duffy, Dan Foxcroft, Ben Lister, Jimmy Neesham, Tim Robinson, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert and Ash Sodhi. The second T20 match of the series will be played tomorrow on Saturday.
