Saro Imran: Transgender Activist and Entrepreneur Breaks Barriers as Asia Foundation Fellow and Stanford d.school Participant

LAHORE: Saro Imran, a dedicated transgender activist and social entrepreneur from Pakistan, has been invited to participate in a transformative opportunity at Stanford University’s d.school. Known for its mission to unlock creative abilities and apply them to the world, the d.school reflects a foundational belief that design should be accessible to all, fostering a community and mindset of innovation.

Saro’s remarkable journey, focused on advocating for transgender rights and economic justice, has gained national and international recognition. Through her initiative, PINK Center, she envisions a world where all transgender individuals can achieve economic prosperity by developing and nurturing a supportive ecosystem.

Last year, Saro achieved yet another milestone by becoming the first transgender individual to be selected as one of twelve participants for The Asia Foundation Development Fellowship. This highly prestigious program offers exceptional young professionals from Asia an unparalleled opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills and gain in-depth knowledge of the critical development challenges facing the region.

Now, Saro’s commitment and impact have led her to the d.school at Stanford University, where she will engage in the Leadership Exchange program. This invitation not only recognizes Saro’s achievements but also affirms her potential to drive social change through creative leadership.
