I want to emphasize how crucial free and fair elections are to a functioning democracy. Pakistan’s democratic journey has taken a long time, and it is imperative to build on the progress made thus far. Next general elections in Pakistan are scheduled for 2024 .As voter; I believe it is responsibility to voice our concerns and expectations regarding the electoral process. I urge to prioritize transparency, accountability, and fairness in the upcoming election
The election commission of Pakistan (ECP) should, first and foremost, be guaranteed to function independently and free from outside interference. To ensure fair competition for all participating political parties, the ECP must function as an impartial and neutral organization. Restoring public trust in the integrity of the electoral process would be facilitated by a robust and impartial ECP.
Second, there ought to be a political climate that is inclusive and promotes meaningful involvement from all facets of society. It is essential to give everyone equal opportunities and to promote inclusivity and diversity as these things contribute to the development of a strong democratic culture. Many citizens are unaware of their right to vote, especially those who live in impoverished areas. By planning voter education initiatives, we can encourage people to take an active role in the democratic process. In addition, I beg you to make sure that candidates and voters are safe and secure throughout the election process. Political violence throughout history has bred fear and impeded the exercise of democracy.  I think we can lead by example for the next generation if we address these issues and genuinely commit to democratic elections. Let’s work together to create a prosperous and inclusive society in Pakistan where every citizen’s voice is heard and their votes are accurately counted.  Â
