PM Khan Offers Big Tech Firms To Work In Pakistan to Support Youth

Prime Minister Imran Khan, held separate meetings with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YouTube Susan Wojcicki, CEO Siemens Joe Kaeser, CEO SAP Christian Klein, Ms. Gunn Waersted, Chairperson Telenor & Mr. Sigve Brekke CEO Telenor. The meetings held in Davos on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting.

To support youth, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has offered one of the world’s largest firms software company: System, Applications and Product (SAP) to establish software labs in Pakistan for software engineering.

He made the offer during his meeting with CEO of SAP Christian Klein on the sidelines of world economic forum at Davos.

Imran Khan also invited the SAP to support the government’s Digital Pakistan initiative particularly in digital skills development and training of youth in collaboration with major universities.

Christian Klein appreciated Pakistan’s focus on digitization of governance and economic sectors. He expressed SAP’s commitment to train young software engineers in Germany and using them for software development in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday met with several heads of digital and technology firms, including Christian Klein, the chief operating officer of SAP — European software cooperation, Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube and Joe Kaeser, CEO of Siemens.

Klein made the comment after Prime Minister Imran offered SAP to establish software labs in Pakistan.

Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Davos.

SAPM Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari and Ambassador at large on Investments Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, Head of Digital Pakistan Tania Aidrus were also present during the exchange.

According to a press release, discussions on utilising digital platforms for building Pakistan’s image were held. The Pakistani entourage also discussed the possibilities of promoting tourism, education and attracting investment through digital platforms.
