Hazardous trashes of COVID-19 contaminated material

Letter to EditorHazardous trashes of COVID-19 contaminated material

I want to take your attention to a very big and serious issue nowadays the whole world but especially Pakistan is facing. Pakistan is making a lot of medical waste contaminated with COVID-19 infectious material. And where this COVID-19 infectious waste goes? Do we really dispose this infectious trash the way we have to or we just dispose it like other waste we dispose in Pakistan?

Government has yet to come up with SOP’s and guidelines to collect this trash and dispose it in places where its safe for human.

I am requesting all higher authorities to consider this serious issue of Pakistani’s and take precautions and SOP’s as soon as possible otherwise this deadly disease will not stop and people will suffer and die. So please consider this issue before its too late because every life matters.

Syed Kashifullah Shah, Islamabad
