Menace of beggary

Letter to EditorMenace of beggary

Beggary has become a regular feature in some cities. We, the citizens see beggars at the bus stand, railway platform, hospital, markets and traffic light. They can be seen at different places moreover.  Most of the beggars appear to quite healthy and stout. It seems that they have adopted begging as their profession and even able-bodied persons do not want to earn their bread by doing manual work, they find it the most convenient way of earning money. I recommend that a strong action should be taken against these professional beggars. If this situation is not handled properly, its consequences will be catastrophic. Government and public together are required to eradicate this evil from our society. The specialist ought to genuinely consider this danger and step ought to be taken to put a total prohibition on beggary.
